Choose a Bitcoin ledger to fit your workflow.
Start with a plain CSV or download a formula-enabled Excel workbook. Both contain illustrative sample rows to replace with your own records. The formulas use values you enter; neither file fetches market prices, verifies transactions, or provides tax calculations.
Formula-enabled Excel workbook
Use the workbook when you want automatic arithmetic in a spreadsheet. Open the downloaded file in Excel, or import it into Google Sheets using File > Import > Upload and choose to create a new spreadsheet.
- Fiat Total Value: Calculates BTC amount multiplied by the fiat spot rate you enter.
- Summary sheet: Counts dated entries, totals BTC, and groups fiat totals by currency.
- Ready for entries: Formula rows are set up for 100 ledger entries; you can copy formulas farther down as needed.
- Examples are illustrative: Replace the four sample rows and rates; no live market data or transaction verification is included.
Google Sheets: Import this workbook into your own Google Drive; there is no shared public Sheet or copy link. The workbook includes a small source credit on its Read Me and Summary sheets.
Simple CSV starter
The CSV contains static example data and headings. Its spot rates, totals, and dates are examples only; it does not calculate or validate them.
| Date & Time | Amount (BTC) | Fiat Spot Rate | Total Value | Source Wallet | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2026-09-05 14:22 | 0.00450000 | $78,250.00 | $352.13 USD | Cash App | Example |

| 2026-09-03 18:40 | 0.00850000 | $77,400.00 | $657.90 USD | Coinbase | Example |
- CSV headings: Date and time, amount, currency, fiat spot rate and total, source wallet, transaction ID, notes, and status.
- Editable examples: Replace the four sample rows with your own deposit data; the first sample note credits CryptoDeposit Tracker.
- Spreadsheet import: Open the CSV in Google Sheets or Excel; formatting and formulas are not included.
Use a starter ledger for manual tracking
A spreadsheet can help organize records, but entering details by hand still depends on consistent review and accurate source information:
- Keep entries consistent: Use the same fields for dates, amounts, sources, and notes.
- Record source details: Add transaction IDs or other references when available.
- Verify values separately: This CSV does not fetch market prices or verify transactions.
